Cardboard Furniture is a good DIY project to do with young kids, and produces fully functional chairs, stools, tables, wardrobes and so on. Its good for kids to know they can make things and solve problems.
Ambitious people have even made a single storey building out of cardboard, and a vehicle bridge.
