Cardboard Furniture is a good DIY project to do with young kids, and produces fully functional chairs, stools, tables, wardrobes and so on. Its good for kids to know they can make things and solve problems. The furniure made isn't just basic low quality furniture, rather the ease of working makes great embellishment trivially easy.

Ambitious people have even made a single storey building out of cardboard, and a vehicle bridge.
