What do you think about changing the category from shelving units to storage? Thats an existing cat that encompasses all types of storage.

Nice. Presumably another alternative to welding would be a tie, either iron wire or plastic cable tie.

I've always found with things liek this that making each shelf a different size gives greater storage density / efficiency. NT 17:22, 9 May 2007 (BST)

Yup you could. In fact another thought occurred to me after I did it, and that is that if you are careful with the positioning of the slots in the bracket you may be able to get the screw holes in the bracket to align with fixing holes in the upright. Then you could bolt one to the other.
