It may be used that way in some areas but that doesnt make it so, nor does one usage make it the only correct usage. I doubt you'll find any electronic engineer that will second the opinion that 500v is LV. Hopefully the rewording is clearer and more accurate, and acknowledges the variation in usage of the term.
