My occupation has taught me the value of anonymity, so I keep things fairly impersonal online. A big chunk of what I've learnt about DIY has come courtesy of news:uk.d-i-y. If you want to learn diy, I can't think of a better place to start. The range of expertise & experience there is remarkably wide, though the usual caveats apply.

I'd rather write an article than watch tv, so there are quite a few on here. Sorry for that. Writing articles and getting feedback is a good way to learn, and an equally good way to avoid work. It also avoids writing the same answer 100 times on the newsgroup.
