| I dont know. Also how do you delete an article? Some articles have become part of others.

| Removing all references to a category (i.e. all Category: tags in articles) and possibly also deleting the content of the category page itself seems to have made this category disappear from the category listing [[Special:categories]] (although this talk page itself still lingers on!)

| Maybe deleting the contents of an article deletes it too?
