Lithofin & similar treatments make grout wipeable clean. This makes a big difference to long term appearance.

The material used to create the rounded grout shape affects the surface quality. Using a finger leaves rough grout, rubber leaves smoother lines.

Colour

Colour is a matter of taste of course, but there are colour choices best avoided. The author has seen an old house with small windows made rather gloomy by laying dark floor tiles.
