It is. Is there likely to be more content added here in future? I suspect it might become a collection point for witty comments over time, and maybe a few tips for getting your own way. :) I can already think of one. Its also quite a significant issue for DIY

It absolutely presupposes that the DIYer is of a gender (or sexual orientation) such that their significant other is female, and as such seems to me to be straying dangerously towards the territory of 'humour' about "Paddies", "Pakis" and "Pikies". I'm sure there's a place for the sociology of DIY (e.g. [1]) and possibly for humour (though tastes vary and what some people no doubt find uproariously funny others may find Pooterish) but I'd be sorry for visitors (of any gender and/or orientation) to this wiki to get the impression that it's just for pale stale males.
FWIW I don't have the same issue with people using the term in personal posts to the ng (I do it myself) where any offence reflects on the poster rather than - in this case - the wiki as a whole. --John Stumbles 22:10, 15 May 2007 (BST)

OTOH it is a serious issue, one with much bearing on DIY activities. Perhaps it can be addressed with sense, or if not then edited later to avoid such problems. NT 22:27, 15 May 2007 (BST)

I'm for giving it some time. NT 20:17, 14 May 2007 (BST)

Do you remember the ng thread where I explained how to explain to swmbo that buying tools was actually in her interest? I didnt find it. would be good for this article methinks. NT 23:08, 14 May 2007 (BST)
