There is a load of tosh in this article, along with some potentially useful stuff. Most of the tables of figures have errors in them (e.g. current carrying capacities are wrong, kW conversions don't seem to be based on 230 or 240V operation), the part p related section at the end is nonsense. The overall layout and tables need plenty of work.

I have a feeling that taking the useful stuff (a section on harmonised colours reworded a little) plus some of the ideas like table of typical applications for different cables etc and merging it into the other cables article might be the way to go, since that one has the framework but just lacks details on the specifics.

Any thoughts?
